While his namesake was known for a lavish lifestyle, this Hugh is much simplerβhe's just looking for a loving family, a cozy place to nap, and a few squeaky toys to keep him entertained.

Hugh has been very well socialized and does wonderfully with other dogs, children, and cats. While he enjoys people, he can occasionally be a little unsure of himself in new situations. Fortunately, he gains confidence quickly when he has other dogs around him. Laverne
Laverne
Belly Rubs, Cuddles, and a Lifetime of Love
12 Weeks Old | Female | Chihuahua Mix (Probably)
Fostered in Beach Park, ILMeet Laverne, a sweet and affectionate little puppy with a heart as big as her ears and a future full of potential.
Laverne is part of our Shirley & Laverne litter and is currently being fostered in Beach Park while she searches for the perfect family to call her own. According to the shelter, her mother was a Chihuahua. Her father, however, remains a mystery. There have been rumors involving the local milkman, but only Maury knows the truth. π
Because dad's identity is unknown, predicting Laverne's adult size is a bit of a guessing game. Our best estimate is that she'll grow to be around 25 pounds, but that's based on the information we have available and could certainly change as she grows.
About Laverne
Laverne is the kind of puppy who wins hearts wherever she goes. She has been well socialized and enjoys spending time with both people and other animals.
She does great with:
Other dogs
Cats
Children
She is currently working on her basic puppy training while in foster care and is learning the skills she will need to be a wonderful lifelong companion.
Personality
Laverne has a wonderful medium energy level. She enjoys playing, exploring, and having fun with her toys, but she also knows how to slow down and enjoy quality time with her people.
Her foster mom describes her as an incredibly sweet girl who absolutely adores affection. In fact, if Laverne had to choose her favorite activity, it would undoubtedly be getting belly rubs.

πΎ Toys of every shape and size
πΎ Spending time with other dogs
πΎ Being the center of attentionIf you're willing to rub her belly, Laverne is more than willing to be your best friend.
Ideal Home
Because of her small size, we are seeking a home with no small children for her safety.
Laverne would thrive in a home that is ready for all the fun, laughter, training, and love that comes with raising a young puppy. Whether you're looking for an adventure buddy, a couch companion, or a professional cuddle expert, Laverne is ready to apply for the position.

Shirley
Shirley
Small but Mighty with a Heart Full of Love
Fostered in Beach Park, IL
12 Weeks Old | Female | Chihuahua Mix (Probably)If Shirley had her own booth at Shotz Brewery, she'd probably be standing on the table giving everyone instructions on how things should be run.
This tiny little lady is part of our Shirley & Laverne litter, and much like her namesake from Laverne & Shirley, she's sweet, lovable, full of spunk, and never afraid to make her presence known.
At just 12 weeks old and approximately 5 pounds soaking wet, Shirley is the smallest of her siblings. The shelter that sent her our way reported that her mother was a Chihuahua. As for dad? Well, he apparently skipped town before anyone could ask questions. While we may never know exactly what breed mix Shirley is, we're pretty confident she's going to stay on the smaller side. Think larger Chihuahua size... maybe. Or perhaps she'll grow into those adorable ears someday. Time will tell!
What Shirley lacks in size, she more than makes up for in personality. Her foster mom describes her as "small but mighty." Despite being the tiniest puppy in the litter, Shirley often acts like the leader of the pack. She's brave, curious, confident, and usually the first one to investigate anything new.
Shirley's Favorite Things:
πΎ Playing with other dogs
πΎ Crinkly toys and noisy toys
πΎ Racing around with her siblings
πΎ Exploring every corner of the house
πΎ Snuggling up after a busy day of playShirley's Highlights:
πΎ Great with other dogs
πΎ Great with cats
πΎ Does well with respectful older children
πΎ Well socialized
πΎ High energy and playful
πΎ Affectionate and cuddly
πΎ Working on potty training, kennel training, and other puppy basicsShirley plays hard and loves every minute of it. Whether she's chasing toys, wrestling with her siblings, or leading the charge on a new adventure, she approaches life with enthusiasm and confidence. But once she's worn herself out, she's more than happy to curl up beside her favorite people for a nap and some cuddles.
Because of Shirley's very small size, we are seeking a home with no small children for her safety.
If you're looking for a puppy with a huge personality packed into a tiny package, Shirley might just be the perfect addition to your family.

As for dad? That's still anyone's guess. Since we don't know what breed mix or size his father was, predicting Squiggy's adult size is far from an exact science. Our best estimate is that he'll remain on the smaller side, likely around 25 pounds fully grown.
About Squiggy
Squiggy is the kind of puppy who likes to take a moment to get comfortable before showing you his full personality. New people and new experiences can make him a little cautious at first, but once he settles in, you'll discover a sweet, affectionate, and playful companion.
His foster family describes him as a very kind-hearted puppy who enjoys being around people but doesn't feel the need to be the center of attention. He's happy to take things at his own pace and build trust naturally.

Squiggy knows how to keep himself entertained and enjoys both independent play and playing with friends.
Some of his favorite things include:
πΎ Crinkly toys
πΎ Beef cheek roll-ups
πΎ Exploring the backyard
πΎ Playing with other dogs
πΎ Learning new things
πΎ Cozy naps after a busy dayHe has a medium-high energy level, which means he enjoys staying active and engaged throughout the day. Whether he's carrying toys around the house, investigating every corner of the yard, or joining in on a game of chase, Squiggy is always ready for a little adventure.
When the excitement is over, however, his favorite place is right next to his people. He loves curling up for cuddles and settling in for a good nap after a day full of puppy fun.
Ideal Home
Because of his small size, we are seeking a home with no small children for his safety.
Squiggy would thrive in a family that will continue building his confidence, provide plenty of love and positive experiences, and appreciate the special bond that comes from earning the trust of a thoughtful, sweet puppy.
If you're looking for a puppy who is playful, affectionate, independent, and incredibly lovable, Squiggy may be your perfect match.
