Meet Nico Atticus – A Remarkable Survivor Searching for His Forever Home

Nico Atticus has been through more in his short life than most dogs ever will. Abandoned at a young age, Nico found himself alone and scared, and like many curious puppies, he wandered into the road. Tragically, he was struck by a vehicle. Though he survived, the accident left him with a severely damaged back leg that ultimately needed to be amputated.

But Nico is nothing short of incredible. Within 24 hours of surgery, he was up and walking on three legs with the kind of resilience that inspires everyone around him.

We believe Nico is a Cane Corso mix, though he will likely be smaller than the typical size associated with the breed. He may look serious with his signature “resting grump face” — lovingly referred to as his Oscar the Grouch look — but underneath that expression is one of the sweetest, most affectionate dogs you’ll ever meet.

Nico is a true cuddler. He has a special way of nuzzling his head into the space between your chin and shoulder, making you feel safe, loved, and completely seen. He enjoys relaxing outside in the sunshine, playing with squeaky toys, and spending quiet time with the people he trusts.
