When Katniss first arrived, it was apparent that one of her eyes appeared underdeveloped. Her foster also noticed that after eating, her abdomen would become distended and hang low. After a follow-up examination with our veterinary team, we learned the following:

She is believed to have partial vision in her right eye but not full visual ability.

Her left eye, which appears more normal, may also have reduced vision.

She has a heart murmur that may improve as she grows, though there is no guarantee.

She has a weak abdominal wall, which causes her belly to hang lower after eating.

Despite these challenges, Katniss is a resilient and intelligent puppy who continues to thrive in her foster home. She is responsive to training and eager to learn, and her quick progress demonstrates how capable and adaptable she is.

Katniss is well socialized and does well with other dogs, children, and cats. She has a loving nature and enjoys bonding with her people. She is observant, attentive, and shows a brave curiosity about the world around her, even with her limited vision.

Fenrir has a story that tugs at the heart. He came to us after his previous owner passed away and no one was able to take him in. He entered shelter care through no fault of his own and found himself suddenly without the home and person he had always known. Thankfully, we were able to step in and place him with a wonderful foster who has given him stability, love, and the time to decompress and heal.

Fenrir has done beautifully in his foster home and is truly ready to find a family of his own. He is a gentle, even-tempered husky with a surprisingly calm nature. He enjoys spending time outdoors and playing with other dogs, but he is just as happy to relax inside and hang out with his people. His medium energy level makes him an excellent companion for both adventure and downtime.

He is good with other dogs, good with kids, and does well with cats. He is leash trained (walks nicely without pulling), potty trained, and does well in a kennel when needed. He also loves a good bone to chew on and is very content to settle in after a satisfying play session.

Fenrir does have a bit of that classic husky independence, but his overall demeanor is easygoing, affectionate, and deeply loyal once he bonds. Because he loves being outside and enjoys exploring the yard, his foster recommends a fenced-in yard for him.
